Now that you have played the Cariboo Gold Rush Adventure Game and completed this webquest, you have a much deeper understanding and appreciation of the life of a miner in the 1860s.

As you now know, miners faced many challenges and hardships as they made their way from Victoria to Barkerville. Many miners died or turned back before ever laying eyes on the wild gold rush town of Barkerville. Even if a miner managed to get to Barkerville, it didn't mean that his troubles were over. The majority of miners who actually made it to Barkerville never ever struck it rich. In spite of the terrible odds, the dream of gold lured thousands of miners down the Cariboo Wagon Road.
