Welcome to the World of Webquests
Webquests create web based activities that provide rich
learning opportunities. Often, webquests ask the viewer
to assume a fictional role and then complete on-line research
in order to complete a task. For example, in the Federal
Political Party: Who Has Your Vote? webquest, the viewer
is asked to assume the role of a contest participant who
wants to participate in a fictious goverment/Much Music
contest. The contest participant has to create a music video
that presents their political beliefs.
Students enjoy webquests because they are creative web-based
activities. Teachers love webquests because they are excellent
teaching resources that relate closely with the government
learning standards and get students excited about learning.
Each webquest follows a standard format that guides the
students through each step of the activity. A similar step
by stop approached is used on the Teacher Page. The
Teacher Page provides teachers with all of the information
that they need from start to finish.
